Faux Freckles: freckles with permanent make-up
Freckles that are tattooed are called Faux Freckles. Using semi-permanent make-up, freckles are placed where you would like to have them!
The permanent make-up on the face lasts 4 to 5 years. It does depend on how you treat the PMU during the healing process or in the years after you have undergone the treatment. The three biggest culprits for permanent make-up are UV radiation, salt and peels.
How are Faux Freckles PMU placed?
Faux Freckles are placed using a needle that can also be used for regular permanent make-up; think of eyeliner, powder brows and lip blushing. By dabbing the skin with the needle and letting it vibrate in the skin for about 1 second, small freckles are created. When the needle touches the skin, it leaves pigment behind. Dabbing once is not enough to create beautiful freckles. The specialist will numb the skin and go over the created freckles with the needle another 1 to 2 times.
The treatment is very mild in terms of pain; virtually little to nothing is felt during the treatment. It is also over in no time, since it is only a matter of dabbing in the right place.

1. The wishes are discussed. 2. Looking at photos together and advice. 3. Going through the intake form. 4. Applying anaesthetic (gel). 5. Testing pigments (colour). 6. Placing freckles with a pencil. 7. After approval the treatment starts.
8. Each freckle is worked over several times with a needle. 9. Anaesthetic in between for open skin. 10. Cleansing the skin. 11. Reviewing the result and adjusting if needed. 12. After 6-8 weeks repeat the treatment to build up pigment in layers on top of each other.
