Permanent Make-Up Colour Correction
In a colour correction treatment, old permanent make-up that has discoloured into an unwanted colour such as grey, red, purple or blue is corrected to a fresh, neutral and soft brown shade.
A PMU colour correction treatment is a treatment in which old permanent make-up that has discoloured into an unwanted colour — think grey, red, purple or blue — is corrected. This PMU treatment is the same kind of treatment as pigmentation in the first layer of skin, as with Powder Brows, only different types of colours are usually used. It is a painless treatment in which the healing process takes about 30 days. The aim is for the old colour and the new colour to blend together in the skin, so that a beautiful, soft brown colour emerges after healing.
Colour Correction Permanent Make-Up
Before the treatment starts, we discuss carefully with you what a colour correction is, how we can correct your eyebrows, how many treatments we expect to need, what the recovery process involves and what you can expect. This way you know exactly where you stand beforehand and we work together towards the desired result.
Feel free to contact us to discuss the options for your situation. Based on a clear photo, we can often already estimate well how many treatments are needed and which colour is best to use.

When can a colour correction be carried out?
A colour correction of old permanent make-up can be carried out when the eyebrows have discoloured into an unwanted colour. This is often because pigment was placed too deeply and scar tissue has formed in the skin. We often see this after a Microblading treatment, because there pigment is placed in the third layer of skin instead of the first layer as with powder brows.
We see red or grey eyebrows come by every day. Grey eyebrows are often the result of working too deep with the needle, while red often remains because it is the last colour to disappear — literally the last remnant of the old permanent make-up.
Depending on how saturated and possibly damaged the skin is, we look at how many treatments will be needed. We can often already determine this well based on a clear photo. Most customers only need 1 colour correction treatment; if several sessions are needed, we base the price on that.
The colour correction treatment
A colour correction is carried out in the same way as powder brows, only different types of colours are used. With a colour opposite to the discoloured permanent make-up, we create a softer or warmer shade. The aim is for the old and the new colour to blend together in the skin, so that a beautiful, soft brown colour emerges after healing.
The treatment is done by means of micropigmentation, exactly as with placing powder brows. It is experienced as not painful and is often finished within 45 minutes to an hour. The aftercare is exactly the same as for powder brows.
Before the treatment starts, we discuss carefully with you what a colour correction is, how we can correct your eyebrows, how many treatments we expect to need, what the recovery process involves and what you can expect.

Correcting permanent make-up & Powder Brows
IZZI Brows often corrects old permanent make-up — that is what we are known for, and we are happy to do something for everyone, if possible. It is also an option to first have a colour correction carried out on the old permanent make-up with us and then have a new Ombré Powder Brows treatment placed.
If the discoloured PMU is not too saturated, we can sometimes place a colour correction including new powder brows in 1 treatment. With only a colour correction, no new shape is applied — we purely correct the colour present within the current shape.
How long do you have discoloured eyebrows after a colour correction?
Because old discoloured permanent make-up is corrected with an opposite colour, the treatment ends with a slight glow. This glow can be yellowish or greenish and of course does not look very nice, but it fades quickly. So you certainly do not leave the salon with bright yellow or bright green eyebrows.
You experience the glow for about 1 day. After that, you notice the eyebrows becoming lighter and lighter and taking on a nicer brown colour. The aftercare is exactly the same as for powder brows and the treatment is experienced as not painful.

Experiences of our customers
“I was deeply unhappy with the Powder Brows that had been placed incorrectly. Thanks to the treatment at IZZI, it already looks a lot better after the 2nd time. The owner and Carla give good and professional advice. I am very happy that I found IZZI and got rid of my incorrect PMU so quickly!” — I. Anders ★★★★★
How does a colour correction treatment work?
Consultation & photo analysis
We discuss your wishes and assess the discolouration, often already based on a clear photo, to determine how many treatments are needed.
Determining the colour
We choose the right opposite colour to neutralise grey, red, purple or blue and create a soft, warm shade.
Applying the colour correction
With micropigmentation in the first layer of skin, we correct the existing colour within the current shape — painless and usually within 45 to 60 minutes.
Healing & aftercare
The slight glow fades within a day. In about 30 days, the colour settles to a beautiful, soft brown shade; the aftercare is the same as that of powder brows.
