Lip Blush PMU

Lip Blush is a relatively new permanent make-up treatment. The treatment has become very popular in a short time, and Lip Blush is becoming increasingly well known in the Netherlands. You probably have countless questions about this treatment — read all about lip blush in our blog!

What is Lip Blush?

Lip blush is applied using semi-permanent make-up. Through micropigmentation, colour is pigmented into the skin layer of the lips in small pixels. These are tiny dots of colour that are left behind. Lip Blush can adjust the shape of your natural lips, add more volume or more warmth. Asymmetrical lips can often be made symmetrical with lip blush as well. This is why permanent make-up for lips has become very popular in a short time.

Does lip blush PMU hurt?

I can imagine: having permanent make-up applied to your lips seems relatively painful. However, a lip pigmentation treatment is virtually painless provided it is carried out in the right way. Of course everyone's pain threshold is different and one person may still be more sensitive to the pain. In 95% of our treatments we find that the lip tattoo is applied completely painlessly.

How long does the lip blush result remain visible?

On average, lip blush remains visible for up to 5 years thanks to the permanent make-up. Of course the colour fades over time, but you can have it touched up. A touch-up for lip PMU can already be scheduled after a year or 1.5 years. That is also because you yourself quickly get used to a certain colour. If you want the lip blush colour to be more intense, you need to come in for a touch-up treatment sooner.

Which colour of PMU lips can I have?

To choose a lip blush colour we use a range of different colours that we place on the skin. We do this because this way the undertone of a pigment colour can become clearly visible on the skin. If the pigment colour does not match the skin, we advise against choosing those colours. This way we can look together at which colours are suitable and will make the lips more beautiful. Lip pigmentation is often underestimated because many photos are posted on social media in which the lip tattoo has just been applied and has not yet healed. Because the skin still needs to heal for 7-9 days at the visible surface, the pigment will fade by 40-60%. Healed lip blush results are unfortunately shown too little. That is why we are adding a photo here, so you get a better idea of a healed lip blush treatment. Of course there are people who really ask for a very intense colour that always remains visible, such as red. But most clients who choose lip blush really want something natural or a bit more volume and warmth, but certainly not a very intense colour.

Lip Blush before & after

How long does lip pigmentation take?

A lip pigmentation treatment often takes between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on how experienced the PMU specialist is. Sometimes more work also needs to be done because asymmetry has to be corrected. And sometimes someone can of course have a lot of filler in her lips, which means the surface on which to apply lip blush is much larger; this then also takes a little more time.

Our lip pigmentation treatment often takes 1.5 hours. That is because of our experience, our own techniques and the special needles we use. It is no coincidence that we also offer lip blush courses to others, so that they can optimise their work too. More info about the lip blush course? Click here!
