Ombré Powder Brows

Wake up every morning with perfect, natural eyebrows!

What are Powder Brows?

Powder Brows, also known as the Ombré Powder technique, is an innovative semi-permanent make-up method that creates soft, natural eyebrows. This technique uses subtle pigmentation in the skin, creating a powder effect that looks as if you have used eyebrow powder. It is a popular choice because it suits all skin types and offers a long-lasting result.

Anything is possible: your eyebrows can be accentuated, but also made fuller, wider, longer or sharper. A Powder Brows treatment is perfect for filling in bare patches in your eyebrows, correcting asymmetrical eyebrows or giving them more definition.

At IZZI Beauty, natural eyebrows are our most important starting point. This treatment is perfect for anyone who wants beautiful, sharp and natural brows without having to touch them up daily. With the right aftercare and touch-ups, the results can stay beautiful for up to 3 to 4 years. This gives you natural brows with a full look, without them looking 'harsh' or tattooed.

Beautiful & Natural Eyebrows

We make sure the result of the powder brows treatment is exactly what you expect and that the brows are set subtly, as if they were filled in with eyebrow powder. With powder brows, the start of your eyebrow is kept more transparent, while towards the outer corner of the eye and the tail the coverage becomes more intense. This creates a gradual colour gradient for natural eyebrows.

Who are Powder Brows suitable for?

  • Soft, natural eyebrows
  • Skin conditions such as alopecia
  • Little eyebrow hair, reduced hair growth or visible bare patches
  • Allergies or sensitivity to cosmetics
  • Difficulties applying make-up

How Does a Powder Brows Treatment Work?

A powder brows treatment consists of two separate sessions. During the first treatment we carry out a consultation, draw the eyebrows on in advance and then perform the treatment. Afterwards you receive aftercare instructions from us to make sure your powder brows heal as well and as quickly as possible. The first session takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.

We also schedule a touch-up treatment, so that we can refresh the colour intensity and make the final result last as long as possible.

First Treatment

The treatment follows a clear step-by-step plan, so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Consultation and introduction: during this personal consultation we put together advice based on your wishes, expectations, skin type, bone structure, age, personality and other facial features. We look at the style of Ombré that best suits you and your eyebrow structure.
  • Pre-drawing: next, we carefully measure your eyebrows and draw the ideal shape that suits your face and your current eyebrows. We do all of this in consultation with you, and you can adjust anything you like.
  • Colour choice and pigment selection: after drawing, we choose the right pigment together. Every team member at IZZI Beauty has extensive knowledge of pigments and how they heal on different skin types. By applying pigment colours directly onto the skin, we check which colour best suits your undertone. Here too, we naturally explain the different options and how the colours will look after healing.
  • Treatment: only when you are 100% satisfied and approve the final design do we start pigmenting.
  • Aftercare: afterwards we review and discuss the result together. We give clear aftercare instructions to support the healing process and optimise the result.

Touch-Up Treatment

After 6 to 8 weeks we schedule a follow-up treatment. This is important for the following reasons.

  • Durability: the pigment is anchored in the skin once more, so the result remains clearly visible for longer.
  • Perfection: the colour intensity is adjusted, and the fill, coverage and density are improved for an even, refined result.
  • Natural eyebrows: after the follow-up treatment, around 30% of the pigment still fades, which results in soft, natural powder brows.

Powder Brows Aftercare and Healing

Once permanent make-up has been applied, you can compare it to a superficial graze. If you do not care for it properly or treat it unhygienically, wound infections or scar tissue can develop. You naturally want to prevent this at all times, as it can lead to a less beautiful result. That is why you should follow the aftercare instructions. This minimises the chance of side effects and makes the end result as beautiful as possible.

Healing day by day

  • Day 1 to 3: The colour looks much darker than the final result. This is because the pigment is still at the surface of the skin.
  • Day 3 to 7: Small scabs start to form while the skin may peel slightly. This is a natural process in which the skin renews itself.
  • Day 7 to 10: A week after the permanent make-up treatment, up to 60% of the pigment can be shed. Your eyebrows may therefore look lighter. However, this is completely normal.
  • Day 10 to 14: Most scabs have disappeared and the skin starts to look smoother and calmer. The pigment begins to stabilise.
  • After 2 weeks: The colour gradually becomes darker again and your eyebrows take on an increasingly natural look. After about 4 weeks they reach their final colour and shape.

Aftercare instructions

  • It is very important not to scratch or pull off the scabs, as this can cause pigment loss and affect the end result.
  • No sun, sauna or swimming pool for 7 days.
  • No chemical products such as exfoliants, retinol, acids or scrubs around the eyebrow area.
  • Clean daily with water and unperfumed soap.

Ombré Powder Brows: How does it work?

Ombré Brows are carefully applied using a modern permanent make-up technique. This uses an advanced device that places tiny pigment particles into the skin with great precision. Beautiful eyebrows are created by building a pattern of subtle pixels, which together produce a natural appearance and a soft look.

What makes this method unique is the way the pigment is built up. This is done layer by layer, giving the eyebrows an elegant transition from light to dark.

It is also a refined process that minimises skin irritation and provides a long-lasting result that perfectly matches your facial features.

The hypoallergenic pigments we use have been specially developed to be safe for all skin types. This makes Ombré Brows not only ideal for a radiant look, but also for people who are sensitive to regular cosmetics or hair dye. Thanks to this innovative technique, you can enjoy eyebrows that look professional and natural, without having to apply make-up again every day!

How Much Does an Ombré Powder Brows Treatment Cost?

What are Soft Ombré Powder Brows?

Soft Ombré Powder Brows offer a modern and subtle variant of the traditional Ombré technique. Using this method, we create a very soft and natural look, regardless of whether you naturally have a lot or few eyebrow hairs. If you love a subtle, well-groomed look, this treatment is perfect for you.

This specific technique differs in the way the pigment is applied. Specific hand movements and controlled pigment saturation create a refined “fading” that already looks soft straight after the treatment. As a result, the eyebrows do not look intense or heavily pigmented, which often gives clients immediate satisfaction.

Soft Ombré Powder Brows eventually fade by 30% to 50%, which contributes to their natural effect. This approach is ideal if you want a more subtle, less striking look that softly enhances your facial expression.

Important Information on Permanent Make-Up

Permanent make-up is safe and also not harmful to the skin. However, there are certain situations in which a PMU treatment is not recommended. That is why we ask every client to fill in a consent form before the treatment. This allows us to map out your medical background and deal with any contraindications in a safe and responsible way.

Below you will find an overview of situations in which we cannot treat you or where a waiting period applies.

Medical contraindications

PMU is not recommended in case of:

  • Chronic skin conditions.
  • Cardiovascular diseases or abnormalities.
  • Haemophilia (a blood disorder in which small wounds keep bleeding for longer).
  • Immune disorders (e.g. a weakened immune system due to illness or medication).
  • Allergies to pigment substances or other materials used during the treatment.
  • Diabetes (with diabetes, wound healing can be poorer, which can lead to colour differences in the pigment. This does not apply to all diabetics; in many cases PMU is safe, provided the aftercare is followed properly).

When not to have permanent make-up applied

Do not have PMU applied in the following situations:

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • On scars that are less than a year old.
  • On areas where a laser wound has not yet healed.
  • On an area where permanent make-up or a tattoo was lasered less than 3 months ago.
  • On an area where PMU was applied less than 6 weeks ago.
  • On irritated skin (such as bumps, dark moles or swellings). The specialist will avoid these areas and work around them.
  • On an area that has undergone plastic surgery or radiation in the past year.

Waiting periods after specific treatments

By following the guidelines above, together we ensure a safe treatment and the best result. Not sure whether PMU is suitable in your situation? Feel free to contact us for advice.

Follow the advice below carefully for a smooth treatment and to get the best result from your PMU treatment:

  • Botulinum toxin treatment in the forehead: Wait at least 3 weeks.
  • Eyelid correction: Wait at least 3 months for PMU around the eyes.
  • Use of isotretinoin-based acne medication: Wait at least 6 months before a PMU treatment.
  • 3 weeks beforehand: Do not pluck your eyebrows. This allows us to make optimal use of your natural eyebrow shape during the pre-drawing.
  • On the day of your appointment: Come wearing your everyday make-up look and with your eyebrows made up. This lets us see where you place the emphasis in your face and take that into account when pre-drawing.
  • The evening before the treatment: Gently scrub your eyebrows with a mild scrub.
  • Before the treatment: Make sure you have eaten enough and are well rested.

What to avoid before the PMU treatment

Specific situations

By following these guidelines, you maximise the chance of a beautiful result. If you have any questions about the preparation, feel free to contact us!

New permanent make-up is comparable to a small graze. Incorrect care or poor hygiene can lead to infections and scarring, which can affect the end result. You obviously do not want this, so we advise you to follow the advice below carefully. This reduces the chance of side effects and ensures a more beautiful end result.

What can you expect?

Cleaning and care in the first week

What should you avoid?

Important: Even after healing, the skin remains sensitive to UV radiation. So always use a sunscreen with a high SPF / UV filter to protect the PMU.

Permanent make-up is semi-permanent and fades gradually due to natural cell renewal and UV light. This is unlike tattoos, which stay in the skin permanently. How long PMU stays in the skin differs per person and skin type. Thicker and oilier skin sheds pigment sooner, while thinner and drier skin holds on to pigment for longer.

A big advantage of Powder Brows is that they fade gradually. This means you will not see sudden bare patches; instead, the result naturally becomes less intense over time. By following the right aftercare, the pigment stays beautiful for longer and you enjoy your eyebrows for as long as possible.

We recommend having a touch-up treatment after about 1 to 2 years to keep the colour of your brows fresh and the shape sharp.

Correcting or covering permanent make-up that was previously applied at another salon is only possible if the old PMU has almost completely faded and is barely visible. If the skin is still too saturated, we may advise having the old permanent make-up lasered first before we can proceed.

This advice also applies to cases where there are deep or larger scars in the area to be treated. To make a good assessment, we ask you to send a clear, sharp photo in advance. Make sure the photo is taken in bright daylight and email it to info@izzi-beauty.com. Based on the photo, we assess your situation and explain the options.

Costs for covering or correcting: For covering or correcting old permanent make-up that was not applied by us, we charge the rate for a new treatment.

Permanent make-up is a cosmetic treatment applied directly to your skin. Because skin is living tissue and every skin is unique, the end result cannot always be predicted with 100% certainty.

How intense the pigmentation will be and how long it lasts depends on various factors, such as your skin type, immune system, medication use and your general health.

Why does pigment retention differ per person? There are rare cases in which the pigment stays in the skin less well than expected. This is also known as low pigment retention. Don't worry: in such situations an extra touch-up treatment is possible to improve the result.

Touch-up treatment: what are the details?

  • 24 hours beforehand and on the day itself: Avoid caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea (theine) and energy drinks.
  • 48 hours beforehand: No alcohol, drugs, aspirin, ibuprofen or blood-thinning supplements such as Vitamin E. Paracetamol is allowed.
  • 2 days beforehand: No blood-thinning medication, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
  • 2 weeks beforehand: Avoid sunbathing, sunbeds, peels, exfoliating treatments, fruit acid creams or Vitamin A acids on the skin to be treated.
  • 1 week beforehand: Do not have your eyebrows tinted (and do not use hybrid brow tint either)
  • 4 weeks beforehand: Do not use brow henna.
  • 6 months beforehand: Do not use eyebrow growth serum.
  • Botox in the forehead area: Wait at least 2 weeks.
  • Eyelid correction: Wait at least 3 months.
  • Use of Roaccutane: Wait at least 6 months.
  • If breastfeeding: Only schedule the treatment once you have stopped.
  • Menstruation: If possible, avoid an appointment during your period. Your skin may be more sensitive during this time.
  • In the first week the pigmentation is a lot darker than the final result, comparable to henna brows or slightly more heavily made-up eyebrows. However, you can simply go to work and look presentable.
  • After a few days, scabs and flakes form. These have usually disappeared within 7 days.
  • Once the scabs are gone, the skin has shed about 50% of the pigment.
  • During the touch-up treatment the pigment is filled in again. Eventually the skin loses another 30% of the pigment, after which you have soft, natural powder brows.
  • Once a day: Gently clean the skin with water and unperfumed soap.
  • At least 3 times a day: Use a cotton bud to apply the aftercare butter, which you can buy from us in the salon.
  • Touch the skin as little as possible and make sure your hands are washed when applying the aftercare butter.
  • Do not use plasters, bandages or wound sprays to cover the PMU.
  • Avoid perfumed soap, creams, lotions, alcohol and cosmetics on the treated skin for 7 days.
  • Avoid intensive sweating during exercise for the first 3 days; sweat can push out pigment.
  • We advise against using Vaseline after a PMU treatment. Vaseline seals off the skin, which slightly hinders healing and traps bacteria.
  • Do not use saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools or hot tubs for 7 days.
  • Let scabs and flakes come off by themselves; do not pull or pick at them.
  • Do not expose the skin to the sun or sunbeds during the first week. After a week, you must always protect the treated area with a high SPF.
  • Very oily skin: Up to 6 months.
  • Oily to normal skin: 6 – 18 months.
  • Dry to very dry skin: 18 – 36 months.
  • The touch-up must take place within 6 to 8 weeks after the first treatment.
  • During this additional session we can further perfect the result and ensure a longer-lasting effect.
