How long does it take for Ombré Powder Brows healing day by day to be complete?

The healing of the pigmented eyebrows depends on many things. The following apply to the healing:

So the healing process of the eyebrows does not only have to do with how the stylist places the eyebrows, but above all with the aftercare too. As we indicated earlier: everyone's skin is different, and therefore so is every healing process.

One person heals quickly and another a little more slowly. That is why you should always follow your specialist's aftercare instructions to support the process and prevent complications.

Days 1-3: What can you expect immediately after the treatment?

In the first days after the treatment your eyebrows may look darker than the final result. This is because the pigment is still fresh in the skin and needs to stabilise.

You may experience slight swelling, some redness and a tight feeling. This is normal and often subsides within 24-48 hours. Wash your eyebrows twice a day with lukewarm water and unscented soap and follow your specialist's aftercare instructions carefully.

Days 4-7: The formation of scabs

It is important not to scratch the scabs or remove them prematurely, because this can cause pigment loss. Let the scabs come off on their own for the best result.

What can you expect after 1 week?

In general the eyebrows heal well within the first 2 weeks after the treatment. Please note: if the aftercare is not fully listened to and followed, the healing process can be affected enormously.

After one week the scabs have disappeared for most people and the eyebrows look lighter. This is normal because the pigment is still stabilising. Almost everyone experiences slight swelling, some redness around the eyebrows and a tight feeling of the skin immediately after the treatment. This already subsides within 24-48 hours.

Days 8-14: Scabs fall off and peeling begins

In this phase the scabs have usually completely disappeared. The eyebrows may now look lighter, because the skin is regenerating and the pigment still needs to stabilise further.

Some people experience slight peeling, which is also a normal part of the healing process. Avoid heavy skincare products and continue to protect your eyebrows from the sun.

What can you expect after 2 weeks?

After two weeks most eyebrows have fully recovered and the colour starts to come through a little more. However, the process is different for everyone.

When are Ombré Powder Brows fully healed?

This process takes a month, and that is why a touch-up treatment may only be carried out after an average of 6 to 8 weeks. You see the full result after the touch-up, because by then the pigments have fully stabilised.

After 6 weeks: Time for a touch-up treatment

After about 6 weeks it is time for the touch-up treatment. During this session the colour is further perfected and any unevenness is touched up. The healing process after the touch-up usually progresses faster, because the skin is already familiar with the pigment.

You can expect the skin to recover fully within 1-2 weeks. This touch-up treatment is essential to ensure that your eyebrows retain their perfect colour and shape for a long time.

Why does the healing process take longer for some people?

the aftercare procedure

From day 4 the eyebrows start to form scabs and flakes. This is a natural reaction of your skin to the pigment. The scabs can cause the colour to look uneven, which is normal during this stage.

The full healing process is on average between 4-10 days. But the true colour of the pigment is only visible after 1 full month.

It is a natural reaction that the pigment that has been placed first becomes darker (scabs), then turns out lighter (scabs fall off), and then becomes lighter in the skin (fades slightly). Only once this process is finished does the true colour come up in the skin.

So not everyone's powder brows are fully healed within 8 to 9 days. As the photo above shows, the client only stopped having scabs or unevenness in the pigment after day 11. This depends on factors such as the condition of the skin, lifestyle and how strictly the aftercare instructions are followed.

Eyebrows look darker than the final result. You may experience slight swelling and redness.

Scabs start to form. The colour may look uneven.

Do not scratch the scabs and let them come off on their own. Avoid make-up and sun.

Scabs fall off, slight peeling begins. The eyebrows look lighter than expected.

Most scabs have disappeared, and the colour slowly starts to stabilise.

Stay careful with sun exposure. Use SPF if necessary.

The pigment settles deeper into the skin and the colour develops further.

Be patient, the final colour is still to come through.

Follow the aftercare instructions again after the touch-up treatment.

Side effects of Ombré Powder Brows

As we just said: Ombré Powder Brows healing day by day is quite a process. Powder Brows have side effects that are immediately visible/noticeable. That is because the skin is, as it were, put to work to remove the applied pigment from the skin.

Common side effects of Powder Brows

You mainly experience:

These side effects are normal and form part of the skin's natural healing process. For most people these symptoms disappear within a few days to a week.

How do you deal with scabs and irritation?

All the side effects mentioned can be present in a mild form. There are barely any clients who experience the side effects as “unpleasant”.

To reduce discomforts such as itching or tightness, we advise using our aftercare cream. In addition, you receive specific washing instructions after the treatment. However, avoid scratching scabs, because this can cause pigment loss or scars

When should you contact your specialist?

If you notice that the side effects last longer than normal or get worse, contact your specialist for advice. At IZZI Beauty only certified PMU artists with years of experience work, using only the highest-quality products to guarantee the best results.

All in all, you have to be willing to put something in to enjoy gorgeous eyebrows for a long time. Either way, at IZZI Beauty we think it is more than worth it!

some redness

slight swelling

itching (scabs)

darker colour

rapid pigment fading

This is an entirely natural reaction, which you also experience when you get a tattoo or a piercing. You get scabs where the pigment has been placed, or the skin wants to grow closed again around the piercing.

Frequently asked questions about Ombré Powder Brows healing

To support your recovery as well as possible, we have listed the 10 most important questions about powder brows healing for you.

1. How long does the powder brows healing process take?

The powder brows healing process takes on average 2 weeks for the superficial recovery. Within this time the scabs have disappeared and the pigment starts to stabilise in the skin.

The full healing process, however, takes 6-8 weeks, during which the colour and shape fully develop. This is why the touch-up treatment is usually scheduled after 6 to 8 weeks to perfect the final result.

2. What can I expect during powder brows healing?

During the healing process your eyebrows may look darker in the first days. Scabs usually start to form between day 4-7, and fall off on their own in the days that follow.

From day 8-14 the skin starts to peel, and the colour may look lighter. This is normal, because the pigment is still stabilising in the skin. The final colour only becomes visible after a full month.

3. What should I do if scabs come loose from my powder brows?

It is important not to pull scabs off or scratch them. Scabs are a normal part of the healing process and protect the skin while it recovers.

If you remove scabs, you can cause pigment loss or even get scars. Always follow your specialist's aftercare instructions and let the scabs come off naturally.

4. Why are my powder brows peeling during healing?

Peeling of your powder brows is a normal part of the healing process. During peeling the colour may temporarily look lighter or appear uneven.

This is because the skin is renewing itself and the pigment is stabilising beneath the surface. Be patient; after a few weeks the colour comes back fully.

5. Why is a touch-up treatment important?

After the first treatment, a touch-up is essential to fully perfect your powder brows. During healing, part of the pigment can be rejected by the skin, which is normal.

A touch-up treatment helps to touch up faded areas, intensify the colour and optimise the shape. The healing process after a touch-up is usually shorter and less intense.

6. What are the best aftercare tips for powder brows?

To let your powder brows heal well, follow these aftercare tips:

Wash your eyebrows twice a day with lukewarm water and unscented soap during the first week and avoid sweat and make-up on the treated areas.

Do not use products containing alcohol, retinol or other harsh ingredients.

Avoid direct sunlight and always apply SPF after the healing period.

Do not touch your eyebrows and never pull at scabs or flakes. These simple steps ensure that you achieve the best result and retain your pigment for a long time.

7. How long do I have to wait before using make-up again?

You may only apply make-up on or around your eyebrows once the healing process is fully complete. This usually takes 10-14 days, depending on how quickly your skin recovers. Using make-up too early can cause irritation and affect the pigment.

8. Can I exercise during the healing process?

Exercising during the first 7-10 days after your treatment is strongly advised against. Sweat can disrupt healing and cause the pigment to be absorbed unevenly into the skin.

Moreover, moisture can cause scabs to come loose prematurely, which can lead to pigment loss. Wait until your eyebrows have fully recovered before doing intensive exercise.

9. What should I do if my powder brows look uneven while healing?

It is normal for your powder brows to look uneven during healing. This is because the skin recovers at different speeds in different areas.

Scabs and peeling can make some parts look temporarily lighter or uneven. Don't worry: this usually stabilises within 4-6 weeks. Wait for your touch-up treatment to correct any irregularities.

10. Why does the colour of my eyebrows look lighter after 1 week?

It is completely normal for your eyebrows to look lighter after the first week. During the healing process the skin rejects part of the pigment, and scabs and peeling can make the colour seem temporarily less intense.

Within 4 to 6 weeks the pigment fully settles into the skin and you see the final colour. This is a natural part of the process and is optimised further during the touch-up treatment.
