Ombré Powder Brows healing process

The healing process accounts for 50% of the retention of the pigment. Half of the result is therefore influenced by the way you treat the Powder Brows after they have been placed.

Ombré Powder Brows healing process

The Ombré Powder Brows healing process accounts for 50% of the retention of the pigment, so 50% of the result is influenced by the way you treat the Powder Brows after they have been placed. In this article you can read all about what the Ombré Powder Brows healing process of permanent make-up involves and why it unfolds the way it does.

How long does it take before Powder Brows are fully healed?

The Ombré Powder Brows healing process differs from person to person. This is because everyone is unique in their healing process. We can, however, speak of an average number of days or weeks in which certain points of the process occur.

The Powder Brows are often a little more intense in colour around day 1 and 2 after the treatment. That is because the ‘wound’ of the eyebrows hardens, which makes the colour more intense.

Around day 7 or 8 after the treatment the pigment often fades away strongly. This is because the skin is now reacting to the pigment that is in the skin layer and wants to work it out, given that it is not a natural substance of its own.

Around day 9 or 10 you will notice that the colour of the Powder Brows largely comes back again.

You often have scabbing between 4 to 6 days.

If you have an average to fast Ombré Powder Brows healing process, you will immediately recognise the points above. But if your recovery is perhaps a little slower, it may be that you only see a strong reduction in the pigment around 14 days. In both cases the recovery process is equally good; so it is not the case that when the Ombré Powder Brows healing process recovers more quickly, this is better for the final result.

How long must Powder Brows not get wet?

It is a big myth that Powder Brows must not get wet after the treatment. Besides being a myth, it is also a major risk not to get them wet. In the Netherlands we simply have the GGD and the RIVM, which have ensured that all PMU and tattoo salons are obliged to follow the Dutch aftercare and to give this to the client. In our salon, and through stories of experiences around us, we notice that many people are not familiar with this scripted aftercare form. Very unfortunate! Because poor aftercare can not only cause infections, but also the compulsory use of antibiotics, up to even the fact that sometimes the PMU can no longer be restored.

What does the Ombré Powder Brows healing process look like?

To give you a better picture of the Ombré Powder Brows healing process, we have put together a number of photos for you. For every few days you can see what happens to the skin and the pigment. Are you having Powder Brows placed? Then bear in mind that you always have to go through this process and that a faster route is not an option. The recovery of the skin is simply part of it, and you can decide for yourself whether or not this is worth it.

What if Powder Brows get wet? You would do better to ask what happens if Powder Brows do not get wet… For the first 2 days you must wash the Powder Brows very thoroughly with unscented soap and normal to lukewarm water. You can see Powder Brows as an open wound; when a wound is very susceptible to bacteria, you also like to keep the wound clean, don't you?

Powder Brows peeling

Because flakes often do not fall off entirely gradually and smoothly, you will notice that you get a kind of zebra effect on your eyebrows. Fortunately this often lasts only a very short time. If the flakes on your eyebrow suddenly start to appear in the morning, it could well be that the flakes are already completely gone the next day. So nowadays it is not even that annoying any more.

Ombré Powder Brows remains a form of permanent make-up; the skin is, as it were, broken, so that the wound then has to recover. Because pigment is also used you will notice that the Powder Brows will start to peel after a while. This process often starts after 4-6 days if you have a fast healing process. But if you have a slow healing process, the peeling of your PMU sometimes only starts after 8 to 9 days.

Powder Brows after a week

As we explained above, it is quite a process you go through before you have the perfect Powder Brows. The Ombré Powder Brows healing process is ultra important for retaining optimal pigment until your next appointment. As in the example above, Ombré Powder Brows after a week look a little lighter. That is because the skin gives a natural defence reaction. The skin wants to make sure the pigment is pushed out. As a result the colour of the pigment fades away as standard. Sometimes we still get an emergency phone call from clients who have briefly forgotten that this would happen. Two days after this phone call everything is fine again. But we understand that you can sometimes get a bit of a fright! Have my powder brows really suddenly disappeared completely? This is simply part of the Ombré Powder Brows healing process.
