How can you best tweeze your eyebrows?

There are countless ways to epilate your eyebrows nowadays. Which way is the easiest, or works best for you? And what is the safest way to epilate? We explain it to you!

Epilating eyebrows with tweezers

Of course the best-known form of epilating is epilating with tweezers. You can easily epilate your eyebrows like a pro by using tweezers. Keep a number of points in mind:

Make sure your tweezers are sharp. Sharpen the tweezers on a sharp knife if needed. If the tweezers are not sharp then you cannot work wonders either.

Also make sure your tweezers have pointed tips.

Epilate when your face is warm. Arrange a warm damp towel or a room where your face can simply warm up. This makes epilating hurt less because the skin is more open and pulling out the hairs with tweezers then feels less sharp.

Determine the right shape of your eyebrows. Do you have PMU? Then it is very easy to remove the hairs outside the lines. Want to choose a shape yourself? Then take your face shape into account. Read more about which eyebrow shape suits you best.

Comb the hairs along with the natural shape. If you comb them upwards, you can still see which hairs hang underneath that need to be removed.

Epilating without tweezers

Epilating without tweezers is possible. But how? You can do all sorts of other forms of "hair removal" at home. By means of waxing, hot wax or with a razor you can make all the excess hairs in the eyebrows disappear.

So epilating without tweezers is possible in principle!

Epilating with thread

Epilating with thread is a fine piece of craftsmanship. It is virtually unlikely that you would be able to do this on yourself, unless you have become a professional at it.

By means of epilating with thread you actually scrape the hairs with roots out of the skin. We call this scraping because you scrape over the skin with a thin thread. You thereby also pull multiple hairs out of the skin at the same time, so you are done a lot more quickly.

Is epilating with thread painful?

Yes, often it is. But it depends on a number of things:

The more eyebrow hairs need to be removed, the longer a treatment takes. And the thicker the hairs are, the more painful it is often experienced.

Epilating with thread is nice, because you pull multiple hairs out of the skin at the same time. But if you have a lot of hairs and they are also thick, removing several hairs in 1 go is not very pleasant. Unfortunately there is also no way of using anaesthetic cream for this method, so you will have to grin and bear it for a while.

Do you have a low or high pain threshold

Do you have thin or thick hairs

Do you have a lot of hairs in the eyebrow

Epilating without pain

Epilating without pain exists! Which method is that then, you ask? Shaving! It may sound enormously scary. But that whole feeling falls away after trying it 1 time.

When you think of shaving, you usually think of a man shaving his beard and ending up with all sorts of small cuts. And of course you do not want that in your eyebrow. But when shaving or epilating the eyebrow you of course do not use a colossal razor! You use a mini razor. You can buy these:

It is actually a foot blade to remove callus. The blades are extremely small and sharp, perfect therefore for removing small hairs.

How you use such a blade:

With this technique be extremely careful of pressing too hard on the skin and thereby making cuts. This is of course not pleasant and it can bleed a lot.

The flatter the blade sits on the skin, the tighter you stretch the skin and the less pressure you give with the blade, the better the result.

Carefully take the blade out of the packaging and then out of the white paper. It is always individually wrapped.

Hold the blade firmly on both sides and press it through the middle. You now have 2 small blades.

The outer sides are the blade sides. You can easily hold the inner side with 2 fingers.

Place the blade flat and at an angle on the skin and cut with the hairs.
