The Hygiene Guideline for Permanent Make-Up

These rules are based on the Hygiene Guideline for Permanent Make-Up, drawn up by the Dutch National Centre for Hygiene and Safety on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. PMU specialists are legally required to comply with these guidelines, so that every treatment is carried out safely and hygienically.

Why a GGD permit is required

To perform PMU treatments, specialists must hold a GGD permit. This permit is only issued after a thorough inspection by the GGD (Dutch Municipal Health Service) to confirm that hygiene and safety requirements are met. Without this permit it is prohibited to apply permanent make-up.

Checking a studio yourself
